The Team

The CU School of Medicine team is lead by Dr. David Schwartz, who has dedicated his life to identifying the genetic and environmental causes of IPF. Our previous work in genomic signatures of IPF demonstrated that genetics influences gene expression profiles, and identified a gene expression signature that predicts IPF.

The University of Colorado School of Medicine Pulmonary Fibrosis Research Team is part of the Global IPF Collaborative Network, an international group of pulmonary fibrosis experts and investigators working non-stop to fight IPF. We now have a more comprehensive understanding of the genetics of pulmonary fibrosis than ever before. Even more life-changing discoveries are on the horizon. We are open to all investigators caring for patients with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis.

How Can I Help?

Sign up to take part in our study. You are eligible to participate if you have IPF or if you have family members with the disease. By comparing your DNA with thousands of other participants, we can start to identify the genetic markers of the disease. Your participation can help lead to early diagnosis and could even save future members of your own family from Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis.

For more information on participation call us at (303) 724-8569.
